Race History
– Started racing Cagiva 80 in Junior Road Race Association, scored eight 2nd places earning him “Most Improved Rider of the Year”.
– British Superteen, unable to complete full series.
– GP125, winner of ACU Stars under 16 and ACU Stars under 21.
- Purchased an ex-GP125 Aprilia but suffered a nightmare year of endless mechanical failures.
– Refurbished the Honda 125 and competed the MRO Championship
– Updated the Honda and won the MRO Championship collecting a number of lap records on the way. Entered the British GP125 Championship finishing a very creditable 9th overall.
– Entered the British GP125 Championship on the trusty Honda and regularly finishing in the top 5 with a lap record at Croft. At the end of the year tried out brother Lee’s GP250 at the Brands MRO meeting. Broke the lap record and looked on for a certain win until tangling with a backmarker put Joe on the grass.
– Entered the ultra competitive British Supersport class and learnt a new style of riding on the heavier, more powerful four stroke bikes
– A year of growing confidence and competing for podium positions. Joe has improved tremendously and has proved his ability to run with the leaders. A little luck would have brought podium finishes at Mallory, Knockhill, Cadwell and Brands Hatch
– A change in team and racing class turned out to be a mistake for me. After Silverstone I decided to wheel out my 2006 Honda CBR600RR’s and make a return to the British Supersport Championship. This proved to be the right decision and my confidence grew and results improved every race.
– Thanks to the continuing support of Truck Links I will be competing for the British Supersport title this year on the Truck Links Yamaha R6 running alongside the factory Virgin Yamaha squad. I’ve trained hard all winter and am determined to make 2008 a year to remember. Check out the News page for up to date information.
